Artistic description:

She's waiting. We don't really know why.

I painted a bride, but this feeling does not belong exclusively to her.

It's that strange moment when everything should be going right: we're surrounded by people, the sun is shinning, we're laughing, we have what we've always wanted, or what we should want; and yet, something is missing.

The bride stands aside from the festivities for a moment.
Is it before? Is it after?
It is precisely in this gap that everything can go downhill.

She doesn't live up to what was expected of her, and perhaps worse, what she hoped for herself.

What does she feel? It's not necessarily sadness. More like doubt, a flash of clarity, a slight regret. Or something else entirely.
It doesn't matter, in the end, why she's standing there, alone, under that lamppost.

She's just there. And that's already a lot.
